Cloud 9

I looked up rooftop bars on MumbaiBoss.com and found one called Cloud 9 in south Mumbai. After walking the area in circles for over an hour I finally managed to find the place and get up to the top. I was the only person at this place and the staff showed after 5 minutes from downstairs to serve me. The view from the windows and the deck was the only reason to visit, I'd recommend getting one drink and then getting out.

Sick/Rain

I woke today with a brilliant feeling, I rose early to enjoy breakfast and watched the rain fall on the hotel pool as this feeling of brilliance slowly morphed into one of strangeness. After returning from breakfast I realized I must be sick after coughing up some colorful things into the hotel sink, but I decided to venture out in the rain and do some restaurant hopping anyway.

More South Mumbai

I made it down to south Mumbai again yesterday. Not much has changed, I just kind of explored some of the bars and stuff, one was on top of the Intercontinental hotel with a nice view of the queens necklace. I was able to get some absinth shots here, I'm not sure if it was real absinthe, however I felt pretty strange when I got up today. Btw there was a spot on the lens so all my photos from the day are tainted...

Bouncing Around South Mumbai

My taxi driver got clipped by a dump truck today and a 20 minute argument ensued on the side of marine drive in South Mumbai. After this, I was practically pushed into a hand craft shop so the driver could get some sort of a kickback for bringing me there. When I politely tried to explain that I would maybe come back at a later time to purchase something, the owner got upset and went on a rant. He explained in detail how his father left and said he would come back and then was run over by a bus in front of him. As I made an effort to flee the shop I was cursed at.

The Gate

The Gate's pretty popular, definitely a touristy type thing. Within 1 minute out of the cab I was ambushed by business people on the street. They offered to clean my ears, tried to sell me weed, or would try to just follow me and ask me questions and then beg for money for the "help" they had just given me. It seamed that darting into traffic across the street helped me evade them, insults helped also. I was able to get in and get some good pics though, and then even made it over to the Taj Mahal Hotel for a drink!

Father Of The Nation

I was lead into a nice British looking neighborhood where I ran across this famous guys house. From what I could gather he's like the Rosa parks of India, he also suffered from an eating disorder and was an extreme minimalist.

There were some good trees here in front of his house.
